Llyn Arenig Fawr

 Approaching the summit.

The trig. A photo of the memorial to the American airmen can be seen here.

Arenig Fawr seen from the ruins of Amnodd Wen.

A hill that features in almost every Welsh hilltop view, twin topped Arenig Fawr is a very easy ascent over almost pathless ground. The walk to Llyn Arenig Fawr alone is worth the trip. This was a second visit, the other ascent was from the south, combined with Moel Llyfnant. The summit carries a memorial to the crew of an American bomber that caught the summit during World War II.

For years the rock climbing potential of this hill was either ignored or kept quiet. A new guide out soon?? should change this.
