Yet more 'boring ' Mondah Liaths. Total rubbish of course as this is a fascinating area off Stratherrick, a living part of the Highlands that is still farmed.

The highlight of the area is the fine meltwater channel of the Cona Gleann. There are some big crags here. Both hills make the tables because of meltwater activity being sundered from the sprawling mass of Carn na Saobhaide.

I was able to park at Easter Auchallater(ask locally) and this enabled a quick ascent of heathery Chliabhain (worth protecting the bootlaces here). Moving over to Mheadhoin, things are complicated by the new Dunmaglas Lodge. This building does not only ruin every view in these part, but blocks the way to the Cona Glen dam. It is possible with care topass between the lodge's electric fence and the loch, but beware soft mud.

In defence of the new Lodge they have provided a new wildfowl infested loch below the dam, bring your bins loads of widgeon on my trip.

Meadhoin has new plantings, again wildlife friendly improvements by Dunmaglass but it is possible to find away around the fences, once over the burn.I was aided by recent muir burn, so it was not as heathery as Chliabhain. They were still burning over towards Saobhaidhe.

After enjoying the fine northward view I was able to return quickly via the spectacular Cona Gleann. There is a lot of rock here.A great spot.
