Burgiehill 254m Forres, Section 9a
OS 1:50 000 Sheet 27 : NJ097559
Baggers Album->Scotland->9a->BurgieHill
Burgiehill from the Southwest.
The summit, with telecom mast. ..and trigpoint. Map: Burgiehill The highest point of the hill behind Forres, Morayshire, is hidden in a runnable but dull plantation. However, nearby you can get some amazing views over the Findhorn Estuary and over to Caithness from a roadside picnic area. The summit may be non-descript, but the surounding country is very beautiful and would repay thorough investigation by bike.
The 1976 World Orienteering Chapionships were held near here at Darnaway. The forests here are still amongst the best in Scotland.
And how about Bogs of Blervie for a place name (see map)
