Hill of Wirren from upper Glen Lethnot.

 Hill of Wirren above Auchowrie.

On the ridge, Mount Keen and Braid Cairn with the snow.

 Final climb to the summit.

The summit, a lot of bare peat.

 The summit and Mount Battock.

 Montrose from East Wirren.

Another big sprawling mass of Mounth, above the well hidden Glen Lethnot. There appears to be a march along the summit ridge, the south being deep heather, and the Gannochy side to the north, heavily grazed grass with a lot of bare peat, very reminiscent of Ireland.

Bare peat is quite a feature of this hill, today it was partially frozen and gave fast easy going.

The views are very good, especially from East Wirren, where the hill country ends and you look down on a vast plain of good farmland, with didtant views to the Pentlands, Isle of May and Lammermuirs. If doing a coast to coast, you finally get to look down upon Montrose!

My map shows two bridges in Glen Lethnot. Dempster mentions one. They have gone! We went up from Auchowrie.
