Glas Maol, with that famous snowy corrie.

Cairnwell and penguins. The Cairnwell Pass can be seen, the highest through road in Scotland.

 The summit.

Spot the trig!

In this wonderful winter (totally *&^%d up by foot and mouth) this was a common sight.

Glas Maol and the plateau, from Cairn of Claise.

The summit of nearby Cairn of Claise.

Lochnagar and the Monadh Geal plateau.

Northwards over Glen Cluanie. Big Monadh Ruadh hills in the background.

Carn an Tuirc. A light aircraft crash landed on this hill in January 2001. All aboard survived and were swiftly rescued.

It is also the birthplace of Downhill Skiing in Mar.

Innocent ski touring, oblivious of the terrible events that were already unfolding in Northumberland.

Great conditions on the familiar plateau. More like Norway than I have ever seen in Scotland. Still fell over a lot though.

Best winter in years, but interrupted. Many thanks to those in Mar that listened to facts not hysteria and continued to welcome us.

Balmoral and Invercauld... Take a bow!
