OS 1:50 000 Sheet 43 : NO122560

10th March 2002
Baggers Album->Scotland->6b->Persie

The east side of Hill of Persie.

 Just before the summit there is a gash across the hillside. The steep descent is made with by a narrow ledge traversing a broken crag.

 The summit, at the corner of the wood.

 Looking back on the ascent route, Claish Mor crags and in the distance Mount Blair. Fortunately you cannot see the phone mast.

The Hill of Persie is an area of very rough moorland between Strathardle and Glen Shee. The chosen route up is from an AA box just south of the Blackwater Inn. Its a short climb, which is as well because the going is very slow, not helped by a fresh dump of melting snow.

The day was salvaged by this sunny hour, between a snowfall and a storm, on the way back from a simply miserable club meet in Inverey.
