Nearly always done from the
Cairnwell, with a path to prove it. A more entertaining day can
be obtained by a southern approach. I have done this twice now,by
the rather fine Glen Taitnaich and on this occasion up the south
ridge, Unfortunately the bulldozer beat me to it and a diurty
great road now follows the ridge to the foot of the final steepening
before looping round to NO100753.
The ascent from the road is
untaxing, but it was a very boggy descent to the Cairnwell road
at Rhiedorrach. First time up, this was my starting point, it
was still a farm back then.
A good day of clarity and some
very good views of very colourful hills. As always I havent the
faintest idea why every one slags them off. If they are that
awful why are they always so busy?
