Drumcroy Hill 512m. Glen Errochty-Rannoch, Section 5

Baggers Album ->Scotland->5->Drumcroy

Summit clearing, looking towards Beinn a'Chuallaich.

 The summit is in a densly wooded area, but there is a wide ride approaching from the SE along an old dyke. The wood is 'walk' in orienteering terms.

This hill has a poor reputation due to forestry. Most see it from the south, that side is dense plantation. However a large part of the summit plateau is 19th century forestry, now old and straggly with numerous clearings. In fact this is a rather beautiful old wood with views.

The summit is in the plantation, but is easily located as a junction of three ruined dykes.

If in the area, try the military road from Trinafour to Dalnacardoch. Good views beyond the pylons.
