Highpoint of a very noticeable area of rocky peaks passed
on the A9 between Newtonmore and Dalwhinnie. A lower top has
a signalling mast for the railway, but the summit is so far unmarked
save for a trig point. At a glen junction, the views are rather
good, especially up the Spey, and down onto the woodlands around
the old Wade Road by Phones.
A new development is that the area to the south of the summit
is now planted with scots pine and fenced. Easier aproaches are
from the the north, a quick and pleasantly rough ascent from
the single track road along the south side of the Spey between
Laggan and the A9. |
