The walk out: Beinn an Dothaidh

Usually a starter for Stob Ghabhar, but worth a short relaxed day on its own, using Beinn Toaig as a circuit. The views from this honorary "wee hill" are worth the time. The usual way up is via an unmapped (except by Harvey's) pony track up the south ridge. You need to negotiate an erosion scar to get on to it as it does not seem to extend down as far as the main track. On this cold day the hardest bit was crossing a frozen burn.

The modern popularity of 914m+ hills had an interesting side effect, a group of hinds beside the path did not budge as we walked by. They now know all about Munro Baggers.

A cold clear day, but no lying snow here - all in the Mounth and Moidart according to the views.
