South towards Crianlarich from the summit.

A trip up by the usual route from Strath Fillan, on a school trip. Because of the pedestrian nature of this route the hill can get a bad press, and gives a much finer itinery from the north or from Glen Lochay. Approaches are longer of course. On a day such as this, the usual route is fine especially with the bogs being frozen.

The winter had set in by now, the going icy, but hardly any wind and sharp visibility. This was welcome as it really brought out the views for which this hill is famed.
