A quiet corner of southern Scotland. Just north of the Lake District, a long ridge pof fine grassy hills with big views. This was a short day around the head of Ettrickdale, taking in two of the big four, Croft Head is an easy addition if required. From Ettrickdale the forestry is not a problem, easy rides and tracks lead to the ridges only 250m above the glen floor. This was my 5th visit to these hills, and the first time that I actualy met anyone. |
