A white Christmas on (not so)Black Mount an isolated summit at the southern end of the Pentland Hills. The black refers to the heather, as with Black Hill near Balerno, the Pentlands are otherwise grassy.

The Edinburgh end of the Pentlands was quite busy, but there was nobody about on this hill.

I had to go up from Dolphinton because of snow on the roads, but Black Mount is easily climbed from the west.

Isolation makes this a very fine viewpoint.
