Map: Blackcraig Hill

Despite a fearsome appearance from the Afton Water, Blackcraig Hill is an easy climb and often the first hill of a good round of tops. To the north there is a new windfarm and , acrosss the Afton Reservoir you can usually see the windmills on Windy Standard. The peace is only really disturbed by these hills being under the approach path for Prestwick. Ryanair will feature in any trip here.

Neighbouring Blacklorg Hill just fails to make the list by a metre of so, and is easily added. Being a short day we returned over Cannock Hill and the very rough Craigbraneoch Rig. A very fine afternoon's round, with more rock than is normal in the Southern Uplands.
