There is no way over the deer fence, a problem solved by moving these stones and crawling. Remember to replace them on your return.

A notoriously rough hill above the Solway Firth. It was not too bad, there is only a short bit of rough and forestry to negotiate. The big problem is the deer park on the obvious route. I was made quite welcome when I walked through, but at certain times this would not be a good route up. Also there is no gate in the upper fence, so I resorted to catflapping. Please dont climb it. You can crawl under at NX8947057010, by removing a couple of stones.

Good views as expected on the coast. Very springlike day with chiffchaffs calling in the woods. Followed by deer and investigated by goats on the way back. Goats were of the kind found on the Galloway hills. Finished up with a walk on a beach. A great wee hill, and certainly worth the required highstepping in the heather.
