An easy but mind numbing forest
road trip. Best done on a bike, but if you do, and get a puncture,
please take your old tube home, unlike the tube I met on this
hill. Great ammunition for gits that like to put up no cycling
signs.
The summit is marked by a small
version of the thing on top of Lowther Hill or Clee Hill. A geodesic
dome on stilts, like the standard bacteriophage you saw doing
viruses at school. Probably a radar instalation for Abbotsinch.
I am thankful that I live in a free country and can visit some
such summits without fear of arrest or worse. The trig is just
outside the fence at the end of the road.
There is a small windfarm just
along the ridge, just the sort of place they should be sited.
Parking at Carrot is awkward,
2 cars space at the windfarm junction. The house is avoided by
a signed diversion through a field.
