The western of the two Sidlaw
Marilyns and the parent hill to Shakespeare's Dunsinane. As well
as Dunsinane itself, there are several other antiquities on the
hill, including the summit cairn. Unlike its twin, Craigowl,
this is very much a rural moorland hill, though it shares a view
of Dundee.
An uncomplicated ascent from
the West using a tractor track and paths through the heather.
Views were very good of the Tay and the Mounth beyond Strathmore.
Neighbouring tops have some spectacular crags, basalt and useless
for climbing, but King's Seat itself is easy moorland.
