 Cleuch

Ben Ever and Ben Cleuch(right).

 Wood Hill
Those braving the steepness of Wood Hill, (and can find the path), will be rewarded with a fine view across the Hillfoots scarp.
 Blairdenon
Blairdenon and the distant Highland hills form the westward view from Ben Ever.

 Cleuch Summit

The summit from the northwest. The fence junction is the march of 'Alva land'

This final part of the hill gave good skiing, below was purgatorial breakable crust.

 The cairn

Dave Hewitt at the summit. This was his 199th ascent.

The cloud inversion is still there as it was earlier on Lendrick Hill.

2001, and Dave's 299th ascent. Team photo on King's Seat Hill. Beinn Cleuch in the background.

 Summit, Ben Cleuch
 Summit, September 2001.

Ben Cleuch is well known, being the high point of the Ochil Hills. The variety of steep brae and deep glen here abouts makes for varied ascents. Dave has managed at least 200 trips up here so far. This was my third, but easily the best. I even managed  to cut my first turns of the winter, before the snow turned to crust.

There were further visits in 2001 and 2003. 2003 was very claggy.
