An easy evening walk after the Shiants trip. The hill is very gentle on the Luskentyre side and is moderately popular. Very good at sunset and St Kilda is spectacular show from here. Beaches feature strongly in any views, Taransay and the Seilebost sands are near at hand. In the opposite direction is the full line up of big North Harris Hills. You can have a good argument as to what is the best view point, Beinn Dhubh or Ceapabhal?

The hill is a vast plateau along the south side of the West Loch. There are two sides to it, while the Luskentyre side invites friendly strolls up easy angled slabs, the inaccessable north side is steep and riven with rock corries and steep glens. No beaches here.
