Morven from Mona Gowan

Mona Gowan faces Morven across the fertile basin that holds Morven Lodge. The hill is well stocked with hares and grouse.

The Cairn was erected for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887 by the people of Strathdon. The actual summit is nearby, marked by a pink granite marker stone.

Mona Gowan is very easily reached from the A939, a short round from Glen Fenzie, up the long south ridge and continue to Scraulac to descend by the old drove road that predates Hay's Military road.
