Cruach Scarba 449m. Scarba, Argyll Section 28b

29th July 2000
Baggers Album ->Scotland->20a->Scarba

Yes.. Its the MARHOFN summer get together... Thats what Trig Points are for.

On the way, route planning on the MV Gemini

The landing was interesting , step off the bow and scramble. Just offshore is the feared Corryvreckan tide race.

Halfway up, a misty beach on a reedy lochan(Loch Airigh a'Chruidh) . This was a welcome catching feature on the way up.

Tricky navigation.

All the better for Glen Morangie.

A little known island immediately north of Jura. While the island is relatively obscure, the surrounding seas are infamous for whirlpools and tide races.

The island is just a hill, and therefore a good target for our annual dinner meet. Its quite a rugged little hill, and gave some tough going and tricky navigation to get to the summit.

Thanks to Jonathan Wood for organising the trip (and supurb meal at the Stables Lochgilphead)

Travel to Scarba was with Gemini Cruises and Water Taxis.
