There is a big mass of sandstone hill country behind the gorse
braes of Brora. Opposite Beinn
Dobhrain and Carn Garbh across Glen Loth is a vast squat
lump of a hill, Beinn Mhealaich. It gives a short bog trot up
from the rough Glen Loth road. In common with most hills round
here it is boggy rough but with patches of dry Cladonia tundra
on the exposed bits.
A mass ascent at the start of the MarHoF
dinner meet. Many went on in improving weather for the other
two, Frances and I popped across the strath for Beinn Dubhain. |
