High on the west ridge
The locals, Beinn Damh in the background.
The cattle were a lot wetter on my return.
Loch Damh, Beinn Sheildaig and in the distance Beinn Alligin. The summit(left) and the slightly lower cairn. Beyond is the gathering storm. Map: Sgurr a Gharaidh Forgotten on account of its illustrious neighbours and also falling foul of a OS sheet boundary, this is a very fine hill. There are acres of climbale rock, a good ridge with two tops of equal height, surrounded by scenery of the finest order. It's even on the coast. Another interesting feature is the vast area of karst on the western edge of the hill, limestone reaching up to 450m. As well as the flowers there are probably caves here.
A very sporting hill, worth scouring the margins of sheet 24 for. Shame about the weather.
