 Cringle Moor

A short distance westward along the Cleveland Way from Urra Moor, this is another popular hill, and is well servioced by the hobbit hole that is the Lord's Stones Cafe (recommended!). Most folk who visit the hill omit the summit which is a cairn and tumulus away from the escarpment. You tangle with some very tenacious heather here. Gaiters are a good idea, to save on lace ups.

Unfortunately a vanity plaque has appeard at the summit, very much a modern trend to turn hills into cemetaries. At least it was attatched to a much older burial place.

Afterwards I wandered up Carlton Bank, for a very good view back along the Cleveland Hills.
