Mickle Fell

A hill with a reputation for inaccessability, but not a great problem if you can work around the range times. The first 2 weeks in July and Mondays are pretty good bets if you want to find the flags down.

The hill is a limestone island in a huge bog, and gives surprisingly easy going. The top of Yorkshire turns out to be quite a gentle meadow, but you will have had do have done a bit of work to get there.

Routes from the east are best avoided. Its very peaty, and besides Scordale is well worth seeing
