High point of a mass of sandstone moorland to the north of Alnwick. The western slopes make up the Chillingham Cattle Park. Its a fine moor with a good growth of heather. The hill is an easy trip from a nearby road. The summit has a little observation platform with a toposcope, a big dyke and a carved stone as well as the trig point. Views are very good. This was a hillfort and is also known as Ros Castle. |
