Housedon Hill 266m. Cheviot outlier, Section 33

Housedon Hill from the north.
The cairn at the northern top.

 The south summit.

 The wood.

Across the Glen from the Cheviots, this appears to be geologically similar, certainly not a fell sandstone hill. The top is cattle pasture, with a wind gnarled wood on the east face. There is doubt as to the summit. I think its the open southern top, but the cairned northern wood edge top has a good claim. The 1:50 000 spot height is nonsense. I approached from Flodden in the north.

The views, once out of the trees, are very fine. Both up the Glen and across to the Cheviots. Sadly it was very hazy today.
