Famed as Harry Griffin's first hill and as the one Wainwright forgot, almost 2000' Black Coombe is a bold end to the Cumbrian Mountains. Whilst it is grassy and smooth on most sides, the eastern coves are worth a look if seeking something a little more rocky. Oh its also a great wimberry hill, one to climb at the end of July. |
