A rare photo, there are not many of me on the site. This is on one of my previous visits. The summit is near the top of the route. I am about to get to grips with a steep little b*****d. Overhangs, Dontcha love them. |

Real climbers, however head for these crags. The highly respected Gogarth. Here the Mountain meets the sea. |

2000: What Greek Island? No it's Ynys Gybi and the ferry is off to Dublin , not The Piraeus. The bleached quartzite of the summit. |

| 2001: And some very unwelcome visitors to the summit. |

And the new A55 barges in to Holyhead. Snowdon and friends in the background. At this time one of those unuasble and unaffordable 'trains' operated by Virgin crossed the causeway, as the ferries left Holyhead. Be warned. |

Sheltering the famous ferry port is the totaly rocky Holyhead Mountain. Only 220m high it has a huge acreage of climbable rock, and not just on the sea cliffs. Visit it by a friendly route on the mountain crag, or scramble up immaculate quartzite. The seabird cliffs are another good reason for straying this far west. |
