Two views of Craig y Bera, a rotting crag with some good pinnacles.
The Nantlle Ridge, from the top of Craig y Bera.

Another neglected gem? Unpopular because it is almost imposible to get a full days walk off it, or that there is only one obvious way up(from Rhyd Ddu, a good route)? I dont know, but it does have a lot going for it. There are good views, three climbing crags including the terrifyingly loose Craig y Bera and the plain terrifing Castell Cidwm, and a pleasant mossy carpet over the summit dome.

Other than the 'trade' route, a less interesting way can be made from Bettws Garmon in the west or by a very interesting scramble up the climbers descent route on Castell Cidwm. Heather and slabby rocks await the explorer here.

I have yet to try any of the Bera routes, but Angle Pavement is reputed to be a fine severe, and there is a classic scramble up Sentries Ridge. Below!!!!!
